![]() ![]() Give us a break already.Īll developers seem to fall into this style. They were so proud of that "feature", hell, they even made 1 island with a fort on it that is ALWAYS surrounded by storms. And after 10 minutes, the storm dies down, and you've got smooth waters for 2 minutes, then you get your next storm. ![]() These were the two big "features" they liked to spend 90% of each teaser video and developer diary videos telling you about.Įxcept, what they failed to mention is that when you actually PLAY the game, every time you put out to sea in your ship, you have maybe 2 and a half minutes of smooth waters, and pleasant sailing, and then without warning, you're surrounded by 5 water spouts (at sea tornados), blinding rain that makes it so you cannot see any of the beautiful scenery they were so proud of, and huge waves making stearing in anything but a straight line next to impossible. And they boasted ENDLESSLY about "seamless transitions", how you sail up to a port, jump off your ship and go into "land based adventure" mode without loading screens or any such nonsense. In all their "Teaser trailers" for the game before it's release, they boasted ENDLESSLY about "dynamic weather conditions" and how severe weather at sea can work for or against you. Take the game Assassins creed Black Flag, I was SO looking forward to that game, and to this day, despite people complaining about it, It's still my second most favorite Assassins Creed games. And the very first feature they "promote" for the game will be a feature they literally shove down your throat. The tric is, watch a trailer for a new game. "We made this new style, and it's better because we say it is, you'll use it and like it because we tell you to!" Game developers seem to border on an abundance of self arrogance. If you don't, then the other way is STILL AVAILABLE". And instead of throwing out a mechanic that people liked so they can force a new mechanic down our thoat whether we want it or not, they could maybe just ADD the new mechanic in with a toggle and tell the player "Hey, check this out, we tried something new, try it and see if you like it. It's almost like they wanted to "dumb it down".Īll in all, I do like Civ 6, I just wish developers would start using their heads and considering what people liked about their past games. Civ 6, with Civ 5 Visiual style would have been far better. Now, we got this jumpled, twisting mess of dirt tracks, with no input on which side of that mountain to pass by.Īnd i agree with the "cartoonish graphics". You could set the rout your troops would follow and manage the "traffic flow" of your lands how ever you decided to lay your roads out. I liked planning out and constructing/upgrading my roads with workers. Sucks having the traders decide what rout your roads take. ![]() The new worker system is horrible in my opinion, I wish they'd add a switch to let us set workers to be perminate, take time to build things style of 5, or use new system. I liked that you had to plan and wait for an improvement like a mine, or farm, to finish building. I used to enjoy capturing workers and settlers from the AI civs, and turning them into a massive "slave labor army". having a limited number of "charges", and getting improvements right away was a step down in my opinion. ![]() Myself, I'mnot overly fond of the change in workers in 6. There's good and bad, hit and miss in Civ 6. ![]()
